Schedule

We found the schedule a helpful tool to organise ourselves and make sure everything stuck to plan.

Foley

We’ve been looking into foley techniques recently, so I thought I’d post the completely foley project I edited on the first year of my last course.

Foley introduction

This is a Foley video I helped make in a small group. We recorded as many relevant sounds as we could in the time provided and added them to this clip of the movie SE7EN.
We also added an sfx for the torch light as it moves past the camera, but upon exporting it had disappeared even after many attempts.

The Balloon adventures

The class was split into groups where the task was to use a balloon as the MacGuffin. The groups worked separately but scenes at the beginning and end of each film were planned to connect all of the groups films together. I worked in a group of three and ours was to be set somewhere in the middle of the compilation.
It’s set after another groups film where someone tries to climb the tree for the balloon and falls to his injury, and set before a film that starts in a phone box.

The interview project

As a starting project for everyone new to get used to the equipment, we worked in groups of about 5 and filmed and directed each others interviews as the roles were switched each time.

The main downside is that we have no creative control over our own interviews on the day of the shoot, yet still have to edit them. Because of this, most of my interview is out of focus. I’m essentially editing someone elses project. It’s a relief that it isn’t graded
